Excelsior JET enables you to deploy your Java applications using traditional, native-style installation procedures. Your end users receive complete self-installing packages, powered by either Excelsior Installer bundled with Excelsior JET or a third-party setup tool of your choice. You may also pre-install your Java applications on removable media, such as USB flash drives, for your end users to run them without any installation.

The created packages do not contain the Sun JRE and do not require it to be pre-installed on end user systems. In addition, Excelsior JET enables you to substantially reduce download size and disk footprint of your Java applications.

Unlike other Java implementations, Excelsior JET supports application deployment at the JVM level. Namely, you may pack resources (e.g. media files, images, and icons) used by your application right into the compiled executable. You may also get rid of launching scripts by hard-wiring JVM settings and Java system properties into the application binary. As a result, you deploy a clickable executable.
