Fixes
3.8.6
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000077, 00000081, 00000090) When converting Microsoft Office documents to PDF, the input document size is not retained.
DocConverter's Microsoft Office application processors now retain the input document size unless otherwise specified using the DocConverter printer preferences.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000083) Document Specific. Some Microsoft Word (.DOC) files hang in the conversion queue with the $ASQ prefix.
Microsoft Word files convert without issue as expected.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000084, 00000476) When converting an image larger or smaller than 11" x 8.5", the input file size is not retained. Images smaller than 11" x 8.5" result in a blank letter-size page with the image in the lower-left corner and larger images are cropped to fit a standard letter-size page.
Converting images now results in a PDF the same size as the input file unless otherwise specified using DocConverter printer preferences.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000086) After using the DocConverter Excel Processor WhichWorksheet option to select a specific worksheet for conversion, all worksheets within the Excel file are converted to PDF. The WhichWorksheet option now behaves correctly and only the worksheets specified are converted to PDF.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000087) Document-specific. Conversion of a Word file using the Default processor fails with an error code of -4 (Cannot Open Document). Documents can now be converted to PDF without issue using the Interactive Conversion option in the DocConverter Maintenance utility.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000088) Document-specific. During conversion of a Word document, the CheckStatus method returns a -2 error code, though the conversion process continues. CheckStatus method has been updated and error codes are only displayed when appropriate.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000093) The DocConverter process appears to be using all available system memory, leading to system hangs. The DocConverter process does not use more than the necessary memory and conversion completes as expected.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000186) Document Specific. Some .TIFF files generated using Microsoft Fax cannot be converted and are moved to the DocConverter error folder. Microsoft Fax-generated .TIFFs now convert without issue.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000214) Password-protected Microsoft Word documents will not successfully convert to PDF. Microsoft Word files will successfully convert to PDF, as long as Must set the registry value SOFTWARE\\ActivePDF\\DocConvert\\InstalledApps\\DocPassword is set to the appropriate password.

- FIX: (BugID -- 00000315) Document specific. When converting a Microsoft Excel file, some cell data is missing in the output PDF. Excel files convert to PDF with all data intact as expected. Cell data must be within the print area set in Excel for it to appear in the output PDF.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000316) When the Intelligent PDF feature is turned on, file conversion process hangs on specific files. Conversions now complete without issue when Intelligent PDF feature is turned on.

- FIX: (BugID -- 00000545) Specific to versions of DocConverter with a limited number of conversions per hour. Conversion is halted once the maximum number of conversions has been reached, however, once the appropriate amount of time has passed, files placed in the watch folder during this time are not processed. DocConverter now processes all documents placed in the watch folder and places them in queue for conversion until the appropriate amount has passed.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000551) When a directory containing multiple file types, including media files, is selected for conversion, some files convert successfully while others are not converted and left in the original directory. Second attempt to convert files left in the directory is successful. Media files within a directory no longer prevent conversion of other files within the directory.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000570) When using the Excel processor in conversion with the KeepPortDocument option set to True, the PostScript file is still deleted after conversion. Excel processor now recognizes the value entered for KeepPortDocument and the PostScript file is retained if set to True.
- FIX: (BugID -- 00000529) Conversion of TIFF images in the Network paths fails and each conversion adds a permanent dynamic printer to the system's Printer list. Default processor now recognizes image files and appropriately checks whether a printer is needed.
