---------------------------------- Intel(R) MPI Library for Linux* OS README ---------------------------------- ------------ Introduction ------------ The Intel(R) MPI Library is a multi-fabric message passing library that implements the Message Passing Interface, v2 (MPI-2) specification. It provides a standard library across Intel platforms and focuses on making applications performance better on IA based clusters. The Intel(R) MPI Library enables you to deliver maximum end user performance as soon as a new processor and interconnect technology become available. For information on Intel(R) MPI Library installation, see instructions in the Installation Guide, located at /doc/INSTALL.html ------------------- Product Directories ------------------- Following successful installation, the files associated with the Intel(R) MPI Library for Linux* OS are installed on your host system. The following directory map indicates the default structure and identifies the file types stored in each sub-directory. +-- opt Installer can specify a different start level. | +-- intel Common directory for Intel software products. As a | different start level is possible, is used | instead of opt/intel in this document and other product | documents when specifying the installed location of the | product files. | +--impi Subdirectory for Intel(R) MPI Library products. | +-- . Subdirectory for | Intel(R) MPI Library components. It also contains | information about license | (mpiEULA.txt, mpi-rtEULA.txt), customer supporting | (mpisupport.txt, mpi-rtsupport.txt), a list of | redistributable files (redist.txt, redist-rt.txt), | and documentation index (Doc_Index.html). | +-- bin Binaries, script and executable files for | the IA-32 or Itanium(R) 2 architectures. | +-- bin64 Binaries, script and executable files for | the Intel(R) 64 architecture. | +-- binding Intel(R) MPI Library binding kit. | +-- doc All product documentation files. | +-- etc Additional configuration files for the | IA-32 or Itanium(R) 2 architectures. | +-- etc64 Additional configuration files for the | Intel(R) 64 architecture. | +-- include Include and header files for the IA-32 or | Itanium(R) 2 architecture. | +-- include64 Include and header files for the | Intel(R) 64 architecture. | +-- lib Libraries and compiler input files for | the IA-32 or Itanium(R) 2 architecture. | +-- lib64 Libraries and compiler input files for | the Intel(R) 64 architecture. | +-- test Sample C, C++ and FORTRAN programs. ---------------------------- Other Sources of Information ---------------------------- Prior to product installation, you can view this file (README.txt), the product Release Notes (Release_Notes.txt), and the product Installation Guide (INSTALL.html). After installation, these files are still available, but they are located in the doc subdirectory as well as at the same level as the executable installation file.
