This document explains how to install and configure for use the Intel® Integrated Performance Primitives (Intel® IPP) for Windows* product. Installation is a multi-step process. Please read this document in its entirety before beginning and follow the steps in sequence. For information about the product contents, including new and changed features, please refer to the separate Release notes.
If you have a previous (lower numbered) version of the Intel IPP for Windows* installed, you do not need to uninstall it before installing this version. If you choose to uninstall the older version, you may do so before or after installing this version.
- A supported operating system (Intel IPP has been tested with the following):
- Microsoft* Windows Vista
- Microsoft* Windows XP
- Microsoft* Windows Server 2008
- Microsoft* Windows Server 2003
- A supported C compiler (Intel IPP has been tested with the following):
- Intel® C++ Compiler for Windows* OS version 10.1 and 11.0
- Microsoft* Visual Studio* 2008
- Microsoft* Visual Studio* 2005
- Microsoft* Visual C++* .NET 2003
- Microsoft* Windows Software Development Kit for Microsoft* Windows Vista
Requirements to Develop Intel® 64 based Applications:
- A supported operating system (Intel IPP has been tested with the following):
- Microsoft* Windows Vista x64 Edition
- Microsoft* Windows XP x64 Edition Version 2003
- Microsoft* Windows Server 2008
- Microsoft* Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition
- A supported C compiler (Intel IPP has been tested with the following):
- Microsoft* Visual Studio* 2008
- Microsoft* Visual Studio* 2005
- Intel® C++ Compiler for Windows* OS version 10.1 and 11.0 for processors with Intel® 64
- Microsoft* Platform SDK, Version 3790.1830 (April 2005)
- Microsoft* Platform SDK R2, Version 3790.2075 (March 2006)
- A supported operating system (Intel IPP has been tested with the following):
- Microsoft* Windows Server 2008
- Microsoft* Windows Server 2003
- A supported C compiler (Intel IPP has been tested with the following):
- Intel® C++ Compiler for Windows* OS version 10.1 and 11.0 for Intel Itanium Processors
- Microsoft* Platform SDK, Version 3790.1830 (April 2005)
- Microsoft* Platform SDK R2, Version 3790.2075 (March 2006)
Recommended documentation viewer: Adobe* Acrobat* Reader version 7.0 or later (provides better keyword search capabilities for viewing documentation in PDF format)
Before installing Intel IPP, you should check the Product Downloads section of Intel® Registration Center to see if a newer version or update is available. The version on CD or as listed in your electronic download license letter may not be the most current. The Intel IPP cryptography library requires a separate registration and access to download, please follow the instructions to make request.
Note: the default installation directory for the
Intel® IPP is
C:\Program Files\Intel\IPP\6.0.x.xxx\ia32
( IA-32 based system)
or C:\Program Files\Intel\IPP\6.0.x.xxx\em64t
(Intel 64 based system)
or C:\Program Files\Intel\IPP\6.0.x.xxx\itanium
(Intel Itanium based system)
To install the Intel IPP package on Windows*, use the following instructions. The installation software installs the full Intel IPP file set for all supported processors. See the Intel IPP website for updates, when available.
Note: These instructions require you to have an internet connection. The install program will automatically download a license key to your system. If you do not have an internet connection, see the manual installation instruction section below.
b) When you
do not have an Internet connection or require a floating or counted license
installation, choose option “Advanced activation”
Click Next, and there are two options to choose from:
- I want to use different computer with internet access to activate my license.
If
this one is selected, then click Next. In Remote Activation,
complete 4 steps.
- I want to use a license file to activate my software
Then go to step 7 below
Enter serial number to activate and install product
Activation completed. Click Next
Choose location. The default
directory is "C:\Program
Files\Intel
". Click Next
Select components to install. Click Next
Installation in progress
Once it is completed, the installation program will prompt to next "Installation Complete" and click "Finish"
Finish
Please Note: If you have an Evaluation license and decide to upgrade to a Commercial license, you must complete the following steps after obtaining the commercial serial number:
To uninstall Intel IPP, select Add or Remove Programs from the Control Panel.
Note: uninstalling the Intel IPP does not delete the corresponding license file.
